SURREY, BC (December 2024) – This winter, local sustainable fashion brand

EcoFabrica partnered with youth organizations and neighborhood volunteers to

collect warm clothing for individuals experiencing homelessness in Surrey. In a

parallel initiative, the brand also contributed to an international drive, donating over

200 summer clothing items and stationery supplies to children in Cuba.

The Cuba project was initiated by Tiffany, founder of the International Ladies Club in

Vancouver, after witnessing the needs of local children during a visit. Moved by their

lack of basic supplies, she mobilized the community to support Cuban youth through

clothing and educational materials.

EcoFabrica founder James and EcoNStyle founder Lina quickly joined the effort,

recognizing the dual impact of the initiative—addressing social needs while

promoting the eco-conscious reuse of clothing.

“So many lightly used clothes end up in landfills when they could bring warmth,

confidence, and opportunity to those in need,” said James. “This was a meaningful

way to extend the life of garments and support communities locally and globally.”

Through collaboration and community engagement, EcoFabrica helped gather over

200 items—including T-shirts, shorts, shoes, notebooks, and pencils—which Tiffany

personally delivered to Cuba for distribution.

The Surrey winter clothing drive also saw strong participation, with coats, sweaters,

and accessories collected and distributed through local shelters ahead of the coldest

months.

These initiatives reflect EcoFabrica’s growing commitment to a model of fashion that

is not only sustainable in production but also circular in purpose—where clothing

serves people and the planet longer.

EcoFabrica is a youth-led sustainable fashion brand that creates custom apparel

from recycled materials. Through partnerships, events, and advocacy, the brand

promotes circular fashion and community empowerment.
