This Remembrance Day, as we honour the brave individuals who served and continued to serve, many of us wear the poppy as a symbol of remembrance. It is a powerful tradition, but have you ever thought about the environmental footprint of the single-use paper poppies? This year, a young girl in our community, Lulu, was inspired to make a change.
Lulu crafted beautiful, reusable poppies from ribbon, offering a sustainable alternative. Not only are they eco-friendly, but she decided to sell them for a good cause. We are so proud to share that Lulu’s initiative raised $677 for the Canadian Legion! This Remembrance Day, Lulu reminds us that small, thoughtful actions can make a big difference. She combined environmental consciousness with heartfelt charity, ensuring our tribute to veterans is as meaningful and sustainable as possible.
